If you have lived in City of Parkersburg (North of the Little Kanawha River), or in Davisville, for at least two years, we may be able to help you obtain an eye examination and eyeglasses. The Lions Club of Parkersburg collects used glasses to distribute to people in need overseas. There are several collection sites in the Parkersburg Area. Those sites include:

The Lions Club of Parkersburg works with Wood County Schools to assist with vision screenings for school-aged children.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg holds the annual Out of Sight Dinner the Wednesday following Tax Day to raise money for projects of the Parkersburg Lions Club. Along with the dinner, join us for a reverse raffle drawing with winners throughout and the last person called receives the grand prize.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg holds an Easter Egg Hunt at the Parkersburg City Park annually on the Sunday before Easter. Children who are sighted may attend and wear blindfolds to help them understand the struggles people who have limited or no sight go through. The Parkersburg Lions Club uses special eggs that beep to help the children locate the eggs.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg holds a Cash Bingo on the Friday before Father's Day to raise money for projects of the Parkersburg Lions Club.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg holds the Halloween 5k Fun Run/Walk for Sight at the Parkersburg City Park annually on the Saturday before Halloween. Dress up in a costume, bring a friend and a pet, and join us for a fun time and some exercise to help raise money for projects of the Parkersburg Lions Club.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg works with the United Way to deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to needy individuals in the Parkersburg area.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg assists the Salvation Army of Parkersburg with Bell Ringing during the Christmas season.
The Lions Club of Parkersburg works with the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF), the WVU Foundation, and the WVU Low Vision Clinic to raise money to purchase cellular enabled, 256 GB, 12.9-inch iPad Pros for children in Wood County, WV who qualify for the Community Vision Rehabilitation Program (CVRP). Keep up to date with our activities, fundraising is ongoing with events throughout the year!
